AN INVITATION has been issued to event organisers in Salisbury to share any forthcoming occasions on the Salisbury Reds website.
The bus operator is keen to hear from clubs, charities and other organisations who are planning public activities like sports days, walks, music festivals and celebrations, so it can help generate interest and encourage people to leave their cars at home and travel sustainably instead.

Head of Communications, Nikki Honer, said: “We offer a comprehensive network of services across the region - and many organised events are easily accessible on our buses.
“Many local people use our website to find out about our services and timetables, but we feel we can go a step further and offer up additional information about events happening in our area. It’s our chance to help promote what’s happening, whilst at the same time providing details about how people can reach events by bus.
“We are committed to helping reduce congestion on the area’s roads, and we’d like to demonstrate how easy it is to ditch the car and travel with us instead. Public events often attract large numbers, and just one double decker bus has the potential to transport up to 75 people at a time.”
Taking the bus eliminates the need for parking and means celebrations can take place without having to worry about driving home.
Nikki added: “To encourage more local people to change their travel habits, we’ve been working hard to make the bus a more attractive option - including investing in new, low emissions and zero emissions vehicles. We’d like to hear from event organisers about local activities they have planned - so we can help drum up interest, whilst demonstrating just how easy it is to take the bus.”
