International Women's Day marked as former political prisoner and author Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe talks about her experiences
by Annette J Beveridge
A SPECIAL free event to mark International Women’s Day will see author and former political prisoner Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe discuss her personal experiences at Salisbury Cathedral.
The British-Iranian author will talk about her wrongful conviction and life following her release with The Rt Reverend Karen Gorham, Bishop of Sherborne.
Nazanin will talk about other women facing similar injustices in the same prison and how we all have a role to play, using our voices to harness the power of the community.
Nazanin was held as a prisoner for diplomatic leverage as part of an ongoing geopolitical struggle which dated back to the 1970s. Following a sustained public campaign by her husband, Richard, Zaghari-Ratcliffe was suddenly released in 2022.
