A FORMER ex-British soldier from Salisbury died fighting for Ukraine according to an article published recently in the Daily Mail.
Christopher Edward Walker, 39, had been fighting in an International legion since travelling to Ukraine to help out in the war effort in 2023. The article published in the newspaper on Friday, February 14 stated that Walker died 'during battles for the capture of the settlement of Kolodezi in the Kramatorsk district, [Ukraine's Donetsk region].'
An ambassador-at-large for the Russian Foreign Ministry, Rodion Miroshnik reported the Briton's death on the frontline and said that his body would not be repatriated. However, a spokesperson for the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) said: 'We are supporting the family of a British man missing in Ukraine and are in contact with the local authorities.'
Thoughts go out to the family and friends of Mr Walker.
